About SMARTCOR 2026

The integrity and performance of engineering components and infrastructure are among the foremost requirements in any design. This has led scientists and technologists to extensively investigate the various aspects of material degradation. Corrosion, in particular, remains one of the most prominent and often the sole causes of material loss and component failure. Among the many mitigation strategies, coatings and surface engineering stand out as versatile and widely accepted industrial solutions.

To advance knowledge and foster collaboration in this field, ICT-IOC Bhubaneswar in association with 4MSI and AMPP Bengal Chapter, is organizing the International Conference on Materials for Corrosion Resistance and Smart Control (SMARTCOR 2026). This conference aims to provide a vibrant platform for research organizations, academia, industries, corrosion-control professionals, coating providers, and technologists to exchange technical advancements, discuss challenges, and explore innovative solutions.

About ICT IOCB

The Institute of Chemical Technology – Indian Oil Odisha Campus (ICT-IOCB) was established in 2018 as an off-campus extension of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai—an institute of national importance with a legacy dating back to 1933. Located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, the campus was set up with the support of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to strengthen technical education and research in eastern India. ICT-IOCB functions under the academic and research framework of ICT Mumbai and focuses on advanced education and technology-driven research in chemical engineering, materials science, energy systems, and sustainable technologies. With a strong emphasis on industry–academia collaboration, the institute promotes applied research, innovation, and skill development, and is emerging as a center of excellence in advanced materials, green processes, and resource-efficient technologies, contributing to India’s goals of sustainability and self-reliance.

About AMPP, Kolkata

The Association of Materials Performance & Protection (AMPP), Bengal Chapter, Kolkata is a regional chapter of Association for Materials Protection and Performance, the international professional body formed from the merger of NACE International and SSPC in 2021. Based in Kolkata, the chapter supports professionals and students across eastern India in the fields of corrosion engineering, protective coatings, materials durability, and asset integrity.

Through seminars, training programs, certifications, and industry–academia interactions, the chapter promotes modern corrosion prevention practices, skill development, and adoption of global standards, contributing to safer and more sustainable industrial infrastructure in the region.
